Tricks-for-treats! At least, I think that is the way Halloween works for dogs?

Halloween isn't just a fun time for kids, it should be for your dogs as well (I mean, they are your favourite children after all)! No one knows the joys of dressing your dogs up for Halloween better than those living in Manhattan.

Every year, for the last 30 plus years that is, there is a special event that takes place in Tompkins Square in New York City: the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade! People from all over the NYC area bring their pets and their best costumes (for themselves and their furry friends) for this popular parade.

According to the BBC, the parade first started as a way to help raise money for the Tompkins Square Park dog run and has continued on ever since.

Not only is this a great way to show off your costume creativity for yourself and your dog, it is also a great place to socialise your pets! Your dog can meet other like minded pooches with similar personalities-- whether they are zoomie experts, cuddle bugs, or fetching fanatics.
